Not worth the price tag

I have this stroller system in blue and absolutely hate it. I hate almost everything about this stroller and what makes me so angry is that it's really expensive and appears to have great reviews! I have had meltdowns that rival a 2 year old when trying to use this thing. I have had to reference YouTube videos at almost every turn because the instructions are so awful. There are some good things. The Maxi Cosi car seat is great and when I finally figured out how to use the stroller base (and got adapters that actually work) it has worked just okay for the past 7 months. The stroller base does not consistently fold down the way it should, but when it does it fits nicely into my trunk and takes up very little space. I have received many compliments on how stylish and compact it is. It's wobbly though. This is not a sturdy stroller and feels cheaply made. This stroller is like an old car that requires many insider tricks in order to operate it. I can't let friends or family members use the stroller without a 15 minute tutorial explaining all of the things that could go wrong and what they have to do to get the thing to function as it should. To say that this stroller is not intuitive would be a vast understatement.
Given all of that, I have used this stroller successfully for 7 months and would have given it 3 stars had I not just had this experience. Fast forward 7 months and now baby is ready to use the stroller seat instead of the car seat. Again, the seat does not slip easily in and out of the stroller as it appears on some of the Quinny sponsored YouTube videos. This was also my experience with the car seat. The instructions make it seem like with a touch of a button you can take the seat in and out to face it front or back. This is not the case. I was almost in tears out of frustration trying to get the seat out of the stroller base in order to fold it all up. One side came out but not the other, then neither side came out, then magically, both sides slipped out despite the fact that I had just pressed the exact same button 30 times before. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to just walk away and take a deep breath because it makes me want to light it on fire and watch it burn.
But the worst thing about this particular stroller is that THE SEAT DOES NOT FOLD UP!!! Please know this. There is a newer model (with the same name!) that does fold. However, the best you can get out of this stroller is a compact stroller base because the actual seat does not fold up with the stroller. To go anywhere with this stroller you have to take the seat off (which I just explained is almost prohibitively difficult) and just lay it on top of the base. It takes up the majority of the space in the back of my Ford Escape. My golden retriever has trouble fitting in there with the stroller. You can not travel with this thing like the description says. We are going to Hawaii in 3 weeks and decided to just buy a Maclaren fold up stroller because this piece of junk would make me want to rip my hair out. I can just imagine the frustration of checking this thing at the airport.

Both the Quinny Zapp Xtra Travel system as the car seat are perfect! The baby sleeps so we put him in the car seat, the stroller is very easy to assemble and disassemble. Loved it!
