Modern, lightweight, and feature heavy!
By Melissa
I absolutely love this travel system and I highly recommend it!
A little about me:
I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant with a boy due in mid-June. I have no other children and this is my first pregnancy. I live in Georgia about an hour south of Atlanta. I've been looking for a neutral colored travel system should we decide to have another child in the future. Since becoming pregnant, I've been drawn to lime green baby decor and gear.
When looking for a stroller and car seat, I really didn't know what to look for. I asked a girlfriend for advice on what things I definitely would want out of a stroller. I was actually looking for the same travel system she used with both of her boys, but it was purchased 6 years ago. Needless to say, I'm so glad I couldn't find a newer version of her travel system (her's is a Graco).
I did lots of online research and read tons of reviews of popular brands including Britax, Graco, and Safety 1st, among others. I looked in-store at Babies R Us at the travel systems available trying them all out. BRU doesn't carry any Evenflo strollers or travel systems in their stores, but I'm so glad I didn't count out the brand. I finally decided on Evenflo because of the available features. I looked up this system on Evenflo's website to see what retailers carry it. Amazon's price was cheaper than the other retailers. I'm also an Amazon Prime member and was able to get 2-day shipping for free. (I think Amazon Mom offers free 2-day shipping on baby gear, too.) I ordered this travel system late on Friday night and received it today (Tuesday).
Here's why I love the Evenflo FeatherLite 400 Travel System:
*The ratings were good to excellent. Less than excellent ratings were based on displeasure of color (the brand's tangerine color is actually yellow, but this is obvious in the stock photos).
*The price was fantastic although the system looks like it could be expensive.
*The color is neutral.
*Because the color scheme is black, silver, and green, the system seems more grown up and modern (just because I'm pushing or carrying a baby doesn't mean the gear needs to be childish).
*The system (each piece or combined) is compact and very lightweight.
Car Seat:
*Removable and machine washable seat cover
*Padding is thick for comfort and safety
*Good for preemies and through the first year (4lbs-35lbs)
*Rear facing
*Certified for airplane travel
*High side impact ratings
*Adjustable canopy included
*Base included
*Adjustable 5-point harness
Stroller:
*Adjustable hand grip (I'm 5'10" and hubby is 6'5" so this was a top priority in my search)
*Parent drink holder included
*Extra large soft pouch parent storage (hard plastic is usually too small and limiting for parent necessities like phone, keys, and wallet)
*Fully reclining seat back (straps allow you to choose the perfect angle instead of being limited by preset positions)
*Large storage basket
*Car seat matches and clicks right in
*Peek-a-boo mesh screen (so air can still circulate with the canopy in use)
*Locking canopy
*Dual locking rear wheels
*Swivel front wheels with locks
*All wheel suspension
*Rolls very smoothly on just about all terrains (I tested hardwood floor, linoleum floor, carpet, smooth concrete, rough concrete, and grass; all were smooth with no or very little resistance.)
*Carriage position (I had no idea the stroller had this feature until I put it together. This will be great for the times I want to take a walk, but don't feel it necessary to use the car seat too - especially in the hot and humid southern summer.)
*Adjustable 3-point harness
*Stands upright when locked and in storage position
*Very lightweight and easy to carry when locked
*Child's snack tray has 2 cup holders. It can swivel or be removed completely.
*Just the right size. The stroller is considered compact, but with all of these features and the room the baby will enjoy, it's hard to call it compact. Until our little one arrives, the stroller is being stored in the baby's standard sized bedroom closet. It is currently in full position with the car seat locked in and the closet doors close completely without any issues.
Here are my very few cons:
*The stroller seat padding is not removable and can only be spot cleaned - unless I just haven't figured out how to remove it yet.
*It would be nice to have 2 cup holders and a plastic parent tray. I don't want a plastic parent storage bin, but it would be nice to have a flat place to put snacks if I'm eating while strolling...but that's what aftermarket accessories are for, right? ;)
*It would also be nice if the cup holder that's included could could swivel outward because it's a little low and too close to the canopy. (If you carry around a reusable water bottle all of the time like I do, it's really not an issue...I'd say only if you're using a small cup).
*It takes 2 hands to lock the stroller into storage position. You also have to bend over slightly to unlock the stroller when ready to put in upright position again.
I hope this review was thorough and helpful and that any future purchaser loves this travel system as much as I do already!

Stylish, functional, and affordable
By PuddlethePoodle
This is an excellent stroller at this price point. It's easy to assemble and is much lighter than other travels systems. The handles are adjustable for comfort and is easy to fold down for storage.
Pros:
- outstanding storage capacity for a stroller
- stylish design, made of good material and nice color options
- adjustable handle bars for taller parents
- lighter than other travel systems but is no umbrella stroller replacement
Cons:
- without the infant seat, the shade of the stroller doesn't cover the baby's face all the way, especially when reclined fully
- the buckles can be sticky and take a little more effort to release
- it does take up quite a bit of space when folded down so you won't be able to put much else in your trunk.
If you'd like some more guidance about stroller shopping, read the stroller shopping guide on the website, AllMomsArePerfect.com. It's under "baby gear" and offers excellent pointers on what to look for in a stroller. It's also got really good advice on preparing for motherhood and other baby essentials you might want.

Yes, it's light...BUT...
By Brooke Michelle
This is my third baby and we'd always gone with Graco. Thought we'd give this system a try and YES it's light which was really important to me but unfortunately the actual seat is extremely difficult to buckle and un-buckle, negotiate the straps and actually move my newborn son in and out of the seat. For lack of a better description -- the straps and clasps are just not well engineered for ease of use which can be frustrating when you're trying to move quickly during the cold winter months. Not sending it back but definitely would not buy again.
